Medical taping
What is medical taping?
Medical taping is a treatment method within our physiotherapy practice. Using elastic tape, the affected muscle is supported without restricting movement. This can be used in the treatment of injuries, correction of posture and in the treatment of overload.
How does medical taping work?
With normal taping, the freedom of movement of a certain joint is reduced. There is also greater pressure on the skin. That is not the intention with medical taping. The medical tape has a lifting effect on the epidermis, resulting in a reduction of pressure and more space for the blood and lymph vessels. Because the pressure on the receptors under the epidermis also decreases, you also have less pain due to taping. Furthermore, you can simply move with medical tape because it is elastic.
